Nogah Chadash is the new glow of The Conservative Movement. It is the united energy of the generation of young passionate Jews who care about serious Jewish practice and about the progressive philosophies of The Conservative Movement, and who want to spread that passion to others. Nogah Chadash is the vehicle through which we hope to infuse this passion into our people, communities and institutions.
We do not seek to rival the established institutions, nor to drain their resources, nor co-opt their membership. We hope, rather, to partner with Jewish organizations, shuls, cultural centers, youth groups, and the like, in order to raise the level of what can be accomplished through the infusion of our energy into established organizations, and beyond.
Nogah refers to many things:
It is the glow of the Shabbat candles. It is the light surrounding God. It is the light of our own existence. It is the point of transcendence where the mundane and the divine blur together.
Nogah is the glow and warmth that makes a place a home. It is where we find and make our home, where the worldly meets the divine, where tradition meets innovation.
