There are many ways in which to accomplish hidur mitzvah, the beautifying of a mitzvah. A good way in which to engage people in the practice of ritual mitzvot with which they may not be familiar is to engage them directly in the creation of their own ritual objects. Crafts workshops can include:
Tallitot and Tallitot Katanot
Kippot
Havdalah candles
Challah baking
Making and decorating Hand-washing cups
Brachot wall decorations
Mezuzot
This can also include guests such as scribes and other artisans and craftspeople demonstrating, teaching, and/or instructing their trade/art.
